Our Story

SAIYO isn't just a band;

It's a testament to resilience, growth, and the unwavering pursuit of passion. Founded by Jonathan Brown and Julian Lawing in 2020. They were two musicians with a shared vision to challenge the status quo, and allowed Saiyo to emerge from a journey of youthful angst and self-discovery.

After realizing that their musical journey needed a new direction, Saiyo's frontman, Jonathan made the bold decision to leave behind the confines of SC and seek his destiny in the vibrant music scene of Chicago. With the addition of new members; (Alex Noreen and Mark Palamores), and an old friend; (Eldon Atkinson), It was there, amidst the bustling streets and endless possibilities, that Saiyo found its footing and began to flourish.

Chicago isn't just a city; it's a crucible where dreams are forged through drive and commitment. Saiyo embraced this ethos, letting their music speak volumes for their unwavering determination to make a difference. From the moment they stepped foot in the city, Saiyo has been on a relentless pursuit of excellence, spanning 700 miles of personal and musical growth.

With each chord and lyric, Saiyo paints a picture of resilience and evolution, inviting listeners to join them on a journey of self-discovery and transformation. Their sound is a fusion of raw emotion, infectious energy, and a desire to break free from convention.

As they continue to carve their path in the Chicago music scene, Saiyo remains steadfast in their mission to make a difference. With a blend of passion, talent, and a dash of youthful rebellion, Saiyo is poised to leave an indelible mark on the world of music and beyond.

A TASTE EP

“In a way, this ep symbolizes a change in our musical appreciation and expression. After years of experimenting and critical examination, we were able to cultivate a personal soundtrack to our lives, and while this EP isn’t the entirety of that, we believe the name suits itself” - Jonathan Brown
